ENGLISH VERSION

1. Agreeing to the Terms and Conditions

By ticking the box labelled “I have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions of entry,” you agree to enter La Classique and abide by these conditions and any instructions given by the organisers or event officials.

2. Contact Details

Important information will be sent to the email address you provide during registration. It is your responsibility to ensure that your contact details are accurate and up to date.

3. Date of La Classique Swim

La Classique is scheduled for 11 July 2026 with a backup weather date of 12 July 2026. The final date will be determined based on weather and safety conditions. Participants must remain available on both dates.

4. Payments and Refunds

All payments must be completed by the deadlines set by the LGSA. Entry fees are non-transferable and may not be deferred to a future year or transferred to another participant.

5. Cancellation by You

If you are unable to participate you must notify the LGSA. No refunds will be issued for participant withdrawals.

6. Cancellation by the LGSA

The LGSA may cancel, postpone, or modify La Classique if circumstances arise beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • severe weather condition

  • unsafe lake conditions

  • poor water quality

  • withdrawal of authorisation by Swiss or French authorities

  • civil disturbance, public safety concerns, or other force majeure events.

In such circumstances, the LGSA will make reasonable efforts to reschedule La Classique as soon as possible, either at the same location or at an alternative location. Participants will be informed of any changes as early as possible.

The LGSA accepts no responsibility for any additional costs incurred by participants, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or other personal expenses.

If the LGSA is unable to reschedule the event, participants will receive a refund of 100% of the registration fee and any kayaker or kayak rental fees paid to the LGSA.

7. Age and Medical Condition

Participants must be at least 18 years of age on the day of La Classique.

By entering the event, you certify that you consider yourself to be physically and mentally fit to undertake a 13 km open-water swim and that you have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical practitioner.

You acknowledge and accept that you have completed sufficient training and that you are adequately prepared to attempt La Classique. This self-assessment does not constitute any representation or warranty by the LGSA regarding your level of training, fitness, or health, and the LGSA accepts no responsibility or liability if your preparation or physical condition proves to be insufficient for the swim.

You agree to inform the LGSA race director of any medical or physical condition that may require special consideration or assistance before the start of the swim. Participants should also clearly indicate where any necessary medication is stored so that it can be accessed if required.

You must notify the LGSA of any significant change in your health or medical condition occurring after registration and before the event.

If you have been unwell or experienced a change in your health or physical condition (including pregnancy), you should consult a medical professional before participating. Under no circumstances should you attempt La Classique if you are not in an appropriate physical condition to do so.

8. Preparation

All swimmers must be capable of swimming 1 km in less than 25 minutes.

You are solely responsible for determining whether you have completed the appropriate amount and type of training and whether you are sufficiently fit and healthy to undertake the swim. You agree not to attempt the swim if, for any reason, you have not met this requirement, and you acknowledge that meeting the time standard alone does not guarantee adequate preparation. The LGSA cannot be held responsible for any lack of preparation on your part.

During the swim you may encounter varying lake and weather conditions, including waves and choppy water. Participants must ensure that they are adequately prepared for such conditions through regular open-water training.

You acknowledge and accept that the swim distance may be longer or shorter than 13 km due to navigation decisions, safety considerations, or lake conditions.

You are responsible for providing all personal equipment required for your swim, including but not limited to swim goggles, grease, food, and nutrition. Similarly, support team members (kayakers) are responsible for bringing all equipment necessary to support the swimmer during the crossing.

For swimmers sharing a support kayaker, each swimmer agrees to maintain the same pace and remain together throughout the crossing. Faster swimmers may be required to adjust their speed to accommodate others. A maximum allowable distance may be enforced between swimmers sharing a kayaker. If this distance is exceeded, the slowest swimmer(s) may be removed from the water in the interest of safety. No refunds will be provided in such cases.

9. Event Safety and Compliance

All swimmers and support kayakers must follow the instructions of the skippers, lifeguards, safety personnel, and the LGSA officials before, during, and after the swim.

The swim may be delayed, modified, or abandoned for reasons beyond the reasonable control of the LGSA, including but not limited to lightning, severe weather, unsafe lake conditions, or a serious incident during the event.

The LGSA, safety personnel, or skippers reserve the right to refuse a swimmer the opportunity to start or to remove a swimmer from the water if, in their reasonable judgment:

i) the swimmer fails to follow instructions from safety personnel or event officials
ii) the swimmer participates in a manner that may pose a risk to themselves, other participants, safety personnel, or the environment
iii) the swimmer or their support crew appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs
iv) the swimmer is deemed unfit to participate due to illness or injury
v) the swimmer fails to arrive on time at the designated meeting point
vi) the swimmer does not remain with their designated support kayaker during the swim.

To maintain swimmer safety and prevent excessive spread across the lake, intermediate cutoff times will be enforced.

Swimmers must reach:

  • 6 km within 3 hours 30 minutes

  • 10 km within 5 hours 45 minutes

Swimmers who do not meet these time limits may be removed from the water.

The final event cutoff time is 7 hours.

No refunds will be provided in cases where a swimmer is removed from the water for safety reasons.

10. Support Kayakers

All swimmers must be supported by a dedicated support kayaker and must remain with that kayaker throughout the entire swim. Failure to remain with your support kayaker may result in removal from the course.

Kayakers assist swimmers with navigation, feeding, and visibility, but they are not professional rescue personnel and should not be relied upon as a primary life-saving resource.

Kayakers must be at least 16 years of age on the day of the swim.

Kayaking in open water over long distances is a physically demanding activity. All kayakers must have sufficient experience and training to safely accompany a swimmer in open water conditions.

If you provide your own kayaker, it is your responsibility to ensure that your kayaker is adequately prepared for the swim. The LGSA cannot be held responsible for any lack of preparation on your part or on the part of your kayaker.

Kayakers may encounter varying lake and weather conditions including waves and choppy water. Kayakers must therefore be capable of paddling continuously for extended periods and performing necessary manoeuvres in case of difficulty, including righting their kayak in the event of capsize.

Low-quality or unsuitable kayaks may be refused at the discretion of the LGSA or event safety personnel.

11. Tow Float

Participants may choose to wear a tow-float (swim buoy) during their swim. Please note that a tow-float is not a life-saving device and should not be relied upon as such. While it improves visibility in the water, it does not prevent drowning. Swimmers who complete the crossing with a tow-float will have their swim classified under the non-standard equipment category, in accordance with the LGSA rules.

12. Wetsuits

Wetsuits are mandatory when the official water temperature is below 18°C, in accordance with local safety regulations. When the water temperature is 18°C or above, wetsuits are optional.

Swimmers who wear a wetsuit will have their swim recorded in the non-standard equipment category, in accordance with the LGSA Rules.

13. Event Changes

You acknowledge and accept that your swim, in the interests of safety, may be amended in the following ways, including but not limited to reducing the distance of the swim, changing the swim course or altering the timings and structure of the event. Any changes to your swim will be communicated to you on the day of your swim or sooner if possible. Should your swim be amended in any way you agree that it has still been staged and that you will not be eligible for any refund.

14. Safety Authority and Evacuation

Safety officials and motorised safety boats have full authority over swimmer safety. If a swimmer is deemed unable to continue safely, they may be removed from the water and transported by safety boat. Participants must comply immediately with all instructions given by safety personnel.

For the safety of all participants, the LGSA has the ultimate authority and the final word to terminate the swim at any point if they judge there is a risk to the swimmer.

15. Government and Authority Compliance

Participants acknowledge that the event operates under permits issued by Swiss and French authorities. The event may be modified, delayed, or stopped if instructed by those authorities.

16. Use of Images

The LGSA reserves the right to use images of you taking part in La Classique swim for its own purposes. You agree to the publication of photographs and broadcasts of your image which accurately depict your participation in La Classique swim.

17. Assumption of Risk and Liability

You acknowledge and accept that your skippers may advise you regarding weather and lake conditions before and on the day of your swim. However, you accept full responsibility for the final decision to attempt the swim.

You acknowledge and understand that open-water marathon swimming is an extreme sport and involves significant inherent risks, including but not limited to drowning, exhaustion, hypothermia or cold-water exposure, collisions with boats or kayaks, changing weather or lake conditions, and delayed rescue due to the open-water environment.

You acknowledge that participation in such activities may result in serious injury, permanent disability, or death, and you voluntarily accept and assume all such risks associated with participating in La Classique and any activities related to the event.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you hereby waive any and all rights to claim loss or damages against the Lake Geneva Swimming Association (LGSA), its officers, volunteers, safety personnel, contractors, affiliated organisations, and event officials arising out of your participation in the swim or any activities related to the event.

Please note that seasickness may affect swimmers and support kayakers during the crossing.

18. Medical Treatment

In the event of injury or illness participants authorize event organizers to arrange medical treatment or evacuation if deemed necessary.

19. Insurance

The LGSA maintains third-party liability insurance as required by French sports law. Participants are encouraged to obtain personal insurance.

20. Cross-Border Participation

The swim crosses the international border between Switzerland and France. Participants are responsible for carrying valid identification and complying with entry requirements of both countries.

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: Sunday 22 June 2025

  1. Agreeing to the Terms and Conditions

By ticking the box labelled ‘I have read and agree to the terms and conditions of entry’, you agree to enter the Guided Classique and abide by the following conditions, and any instructions given to you by the organisers/officials of your Guided Classique swim.

  1. Contact Details

Important information will be emailed to you using the email address provided upon entry and we may send you documentation after the Guided Classique. You must make sure you provide up to date contact details and update these details, if there are any changes, by logging in via our online swim platform or contacting the Lake Geneva Swimming Association (LGSA) directly via email. Failure to provide complete and accurate information may result in your application being rejected. The LGSA reserves the right to reject incomplete applications should the missing information not be provided within the deadlines set by the LGSA. Those swimmers with rejected applications will not be allowed to attempt their swim and no refunds will be given.

  1. Reservation of your Window

Each Guided Classique swim may take place on any day and time during the reserved window. The actual day of your swim will be decided based on meteorological conditions and the priority of your booking. Whilst multiple Guided Classique bookings in the same window are prioritised according to who booked first, please note that any Signature booking during the same window will take priority. The LGSA asks that you remain flexible and ensure you're available to swim at any point during your swim window.

  1. Payments and Refunds

You ensure that all requirements are fulfilled within the deadlines given by the LGSA, and that all balances are paid by the 30th of April in the year of your swim, or 60 days before your swim window, whichever is sooner. You accept that all fees paid to the LGSA cannot be transferred, deferred or refunded. You acknowledge and accept your responsibility to ensure that you comply with the requirements of the LGSA. You also acknowledge that your swim may be delayed or cancelled should you not meet these requirements, and no refunds will be given. You acknowledge and accept that the swim will be deemed to have started as soon as you enter the water at the start of your swim attempt. Whenever the swim finishes after this time, the full swim fee will be retained by the LGSA.

  1. Cancellation by you

If you're unable to participate due to a serious medical condition or injury that demonstrably prevents your safe participation, you must inform the LGSA immediately via email to secretary [at] lgsa.com.

You must provide a valid medical certificate issued by a licensed medical professional as proof. This certificate must clearly state the medical reason for your inability to participate.

If your cancellation is due to a verified and accepted medical reason, a partial refund may be considered based on the following schedule:

  1. Before January 31st in the year of your swim: The LGSA will retain your deposit only.

  2. Between January 31st and 45 days before the start of your swim window: The LGSA will retain 50% of the total swim fee.

  3. Less than 45 days before the start of your swim window: The LGSA will retain 75% of the total swim fee.

Submission of a medical certificate doesn't automatically guarantee a refund. All medical cancellation requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and require verification and approval by the LGSA. Past refunds for similar or previous cases don't set a precedent for future requests. Refunds won't be given for any other reasons (e.g., change of mind, personal commitments, travel issues unrelated to a medical condition).

  1. Cancellation by the LGSA

The LGSA may cancel your Guided Classique if circumstances beyond our reasonable control arise including but not limited to;

  1. poor water quality

  2. water temperature below 14 or above 31 degrees celsius

  3. war, civil or political unrest, terrorism or natural disasters

  4. plague, pandemic or public health concerns

  5. unavailability of key staff due to illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances

  6. Revocation of permits by the authorities

In such circumstances we will attempt to restage your Guided Classique as soon as possible, either at the same location or an alternative location and no refunds will be given. You will be informed of any changes at your Guided Classique as early as possible. The LGSA has no responsibility for any other costs, including but not limited to travel and accommodation. The Classique is staged in some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and we hope you will visit the local area and enjoy your time there.

  1. Your Age and Medical Condition

You, intending to be legally bound, certify that you consider yourself to be physically and mentally fit to undertake the swim and have not been otherwise informed by a medical practitioner. You will advise the LGSA of any further changes in your medical condition that arise before your swim takes place. You agree to give urine and/or blood samples if requested by the LGSA both during training, before your swim attempt and after your swim attempt.

You acknowledge and accept that the provision of certification for a self-assessment swim and medical/health condition in no way implies any representation by the LGSA that you have completed sufficient training or that you are sufficiently fit or healthy to make such an attempt. You undertake to make it clear to your skippers and lifeguards any physical or medical conditions before the start of your swim should it have any potential of requiring special consideration or possible assistance. You ensure to make it known to the skippers and lifeguards the place where medication is stored.

For solo attempts you must be older than 16 years on the first day of your swim window. Any swimmer younger than 18 years must provide the LGSA with consent in writing by a parent or legal guardian. Open water swimming involves strenuous exercise. You should therefore undergo a medical check-up, including an ECG test, before you start training for your swim. If you have been unwell or have experienced a change in your wellbeing and/or physical state (such as pregnancy) please consult your doctor. You should under no circumstances attempt your swim if you are not in an appropriate state to do so.

  1. Preparation

All swimmers are required to have completed a self-assessment swim as specified by the LGSA at least 30 days before the start of their swim window. The required times and distances may vary. Please refer to your self-assessment swim form for more information. You acknowledge and accept that the self-assessment swim alone may not be sufficient preparation to attempt your swim. You are solely responsible for assessing whether you have achieved an appropriate amount (and type) of training, fitness and health before embarking upon your swim attempt and that you will not make the attempt if, for any reason, you have failed to achieve this, whilst still acknowledging that. The LGSA cannot be held responsible for any lack of preparation on your part. When swimming during your attempt you may encounter varying weather conditions including waves and choppy water, therefore you must ensure that you are prepared for all types of weather by swimming regularly in open water.

You acknowledge and accept that the swim may be considerably longer/shorter than 13km due to various reasons such as the skipper’s discretionary route. You acknowledge that you are wholly responsible for supplying all personal equipment that you and/or your team might require for your swim, including but not limited to clothing, light sticks, grease and food. Similarly all support team members are responsible for bringing all personal equipment that they might require for your swim, including but not limited to clothing, light sticks, grease and food. The number of support crew will be agreed with the LGSA before the swim. The skipper reserves the right to limit the number of support crew as they see fit.

For those swimming as a group, we remind you that each participant accepts to swim at the same speed and keep together as a group. Those faster swimmers will be required to slow down for the others, with a maximum permitted distance imposed between the first swimmer and the last swimmer. Should the group exceed this distance, the slowest swimmers will be taken out of the water to ensure adequate safety cover for the group as a whole. Should this case arise, no refunds will be given.

  1. Event Safety and non-compliance

All swimmers and support team members must follow the instructions of the skippers, lifeguards and/or the LGSA, before, during and after the start of your swim. The swim may be abandoned for reasons beyond our reasonable control including, but not limited to, lightning, bad weather or a serious incident. The skippers, lifeguards and/or the LGSA reserve the right to refuse you to attempt your swim, or to cease your swim attempt if;

  1. you take someone else’s swim window, or are involved in the changing of someone’s swim window

  2. you and/or your support crew fail to follow the instructions of the skippers, lifeguards and/or the LGSA

  3. you and/or your support crew attempt to participate in a way which we, in our sole discretion and acting reasonably, believe;

    1. may cause harm and/or offence to a skipper, lifeguard and/or an LGSA representative, or any other member of your team or support team

    2. may cause harm to you

    3. may harm the environment

    4. causes a risk or potential risk to health and safety

  4. you and/or your support crew appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  5. you and/or your support crew are physically and/or mentally unfit to participate

  6. you and/or your support crew fail to arrive on time at the designated rendezvous point

  7. the skippers, in their sole discretion and acting reasonably, judge that you are unable to swim fast enough to allow you to complete your swim within 7 hours.

  8. you and/or your support crew take part in any ambush marketing activity

  1. Optional tow-float

Each participant may choose to wear a tow-float during their swim. Remember that this is not a life saving device and should not be treated as such. A tow-float helps with visibility in the water but will not prevent a swimmer from drowning. Should a swimmer complete the crossing with a tow-float, the swim will be attributed to the non-standard equipment category, as per the LGSA Rules.

  1. Wetsuits

Swimmers may wear a neoprene wetsuit during their swim, and such attempts will be attributed to the non-standard equipment category, as per the LGSA Rules.

  1. Event Changes

You accept that you may be able to change the nature of your swim from a solo to a relay or group or vice versa provided this is agreed in advance with the LGSA office and that any outstanding balances are paid. You acknowledge and accept that your swim, in the interests of safety, may be amended in the following ways, including but not limited to reducing the distance of the swim, changing the swim course or altering the timings and structure of events. Any changes to your swim will be communicated to you on the day of your swim or sooner if possible. Should your swim be amended in any way you agree that it has still been staged and that you will not be eligible for any refund.

  1. Use of Images

The LGSA reserves the right to use images of you taking part in your Guided Classique for its own purposes. You agree to the publication of photographs and broadcasts of your image which accurately depict your participation in your Guided Classique.

  1. Risk and Liability

You acknowledge and accept that your skippers will advise on the weather and lake conditions on and before the day of your swim, however you take full responsibility for the final decision to make an attempt. You acknowledge and understand that open water marathon swimming is an extreme sport. You are aware of the risks inherent in attempting an open water marathon swim and the training for such an event, including possible permanent disability or death. You agree to accept and assume all those risks. You hereby waive any and all rights, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, to claim for loss or damages against the LGSA and/or any body affiliated thereto and any of the Association officials supervising, observing and organising events, which arise out of your participation in attempting the swim, or any activities incidental thereto. Please note seasickness can be a serious problem for swimmers or support team members on the boat. You undertake full responsibility to make them aware of this. For the safety of all participants, the boat skipper has the ultimate authority and the final word to terminate the swim at any point if they judge there is a risk to the swimmer.

  1. Insurance and Liability

The LGSA has its own appropriate third-party liability insurance in accordance with the law L321-1 of the French ‘code du sport’ which covers the participants, contractors and volunteers for the duration of the Guided Classique swim.

If you are travelling from abroad, you should have appropriate travel insurance to cover you throughout your trip.

Guided Nyvoirienne Terms and Conditions

1. Agreeing to the Terms and Conditions

By ticking the box labelled ‘I have read and agree to the terms and conditions of entry’, you agree to enter the Guided Nyvoirienne and abide by the following conditions, and any instructions given to you by the organisers/officials of your Guided Nyvoirienne swim.

2. Contact Details

Important information will be emailed to you using the email address provided upon entry and we may send you documentation after the Guided Nyvoirienne. You must make sure you provide up-to-date contact details and update these details if there are any changes, by logging in via our online swim platform or contacting the LGSA directly via email. Failure to provide complete and accurate information may result in your application being rejected. The LGSA reserves the right to reject incomplete applications should the missing information not be provided within the deadlines set by the LGSA. Those swimmers with rejected applications will not be allowed to attempt their swim, and no refunds will be given.

3. Reservation of your Window

Each Guided Nyvoirienne swim may take place on any day and time during the reserved window. The actual day of your swim will be decided based on meteorological conditions and the priority of your booking. Whilst multiple Guided Nyvoirienne bookings in the same window are prioritised according to who booked first, please note that any Signature booking during the same window will take priority. The LGSA asks that you remain flexible and ensure you're available to swim at any point during your swim window.

5. Cancellation by you

If you're unable to participate due to a serious medical condition or injury that demonstrably prevents your safe participation, you must inform the LGSA immediately via email to secretary [at] lgsa.com.

  • You must provide a valid medical certificate issued by a licensed medical professional as proof. This certificate must clearly state the medical reason for your inability to participate.

  • If your cancellation is due to a verified and accepted medical reason, a partial refund may be considered based on the following schedule:

    • Before January 31st in the year of your swim: The LGSA will retain your deposit only.

    • Between January 31st and 45 days before the start of your swim window: The LGSA will retain 50% of the total swim fee.

    • Less than 45 days before the start of your swim window: The LGSA will retain 75% of the total swim fee.

  • Submission of a medical certificate doesn't automatically guarantee a refund.

6. Cancellation by the LGSA

The LGSA may cancel your Guided Nyvoirienne if circumstances beyond our reasonable control arise including but not limited to;

i) poor water quality

ii) water temperature below 14 or above 31 degrees celsius

iii) war, civil or political unrest, terrorism or natural disasters

iv) plague, pandemic or public health concerns

v) unavailability of key staff due to illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances

vi) Revocation of permits by the authorities

In such circumstances we will attempt to restage your Guided Nyvoirienne as soon as possible, either at the same location or an alternative location and no refunds will be given. You will be informed of any changes at your Guided Nyvoirienne as early as possible. The LGSA has no responsibility for any other costs, including but not limited to travel and accommodation. The Nyvoirienne is staged in some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and we hope you will visit the local area and enjoy your time there.

You agree to give urine and/or blood samples if requested by the LGSA both during training, before your swim attempt, and after your swim attempt.

For solo attempts, you must be older than 16 years on the first day of your swim window. Any swimmer younger than 18 years must provide the LGSA with consent in writing by a parent or legal guardian. Open water swimming involves strenuous exercise. You should undergo a medical check-up, including an ECG test, before you start training for your swim.

You acknowledge and accept that the swim may be considerably longer/shorter than 7km due to various reasons such as the skipper’s discretionary route.

9. Event Safety and Non-Compliance

All swimmers and support team members must follow the instructions of the skippers, lifeguards, and/or the LGSA, before, during, and after the start of your swim. The swim may be abandoned for reasons beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to lightning, bad weather, or a serious incident during the swim. The skippers, lifeguards, and/or the LGSA reserve the right to refuse you to attempt your swim, or to cease your swim attempt if:

  1. You take someone else’s swim window, or are involved in the changing of someone’s swim window.

  2. You fail to follow the instructions of the skippers, lifeguards, and/or the LGSA.

  3. You attempt to participate in a way which we, in our sole discretion and acting reasonably, believe:

    1. May cause harm and/or offence to a skipper, lifeguard, and/or an LGSA representative, or any other member of your team or support team.

    2. May cause harm to you.

    3. May harm the environment.

    4. Causes a risk or potential risk to health and safety.

  4. You appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  5. You are unfit to participate due to an injury or illness.

  6. You fail to arrive on time at the designated rendezvous point.

  7. The skippers, in their sole discretion and acting reasonably, judge that you are unable to swim fast enough to allow you to complete your swim within 4 hours and 30 minutes.

  8. You take part in any ambush marketing activity.

11. Wetsuits

Swimmers may wear a neoprene wetsuit during their swim. Should a swimmer complete the crossing whilst wearing a wetsuit, the swim will be attributed to the non-standard equipment category, as per the LGSA Rules.

12. Event Changes

You accept that you may be able to change the nature of your swim from a solo to a relay or vice versa provided this is agreed in advance with the LGSA office and that any outstanding balances are paid.

13. Use of Images

The LGSA reserves the right to use images of you taking part in your Guided Nyvoirienne for its own purposes. You agree to the publication of photographs and broadcasts of your image which accurately depict your participation in your Guided Nyvoirienne.

You hereby waive any and all rights, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, to claim for loss or damages against the LGSA and/or any body affiliated thereto and any of the LGSA officials supervising, observing and organising events, which arise out of your participation in attempting the swim, or any activities incidental thereto. Please note seasickness can be a serious problem for swimmers or support team members on the boat. You undertake full responsibility to make them aware of this. For the safety of all participants, the boat skipper has the ultimate authority and the final word to terminate the swim at any point if they judge there is a risk to the swimmer.

15. Insurance and Liability

The LGSA has its own appropriate third-party liability insurance in accordance with the law L321-1 of the French ‘code du sport’ which covers the participants, contractors, and volunteers for the duration of the Guided Nyvoirienne swim. If you are travelling from abroad, you should have appropriate travel insurance to cover you throughout your trip.

<h1>Conditions Générales Nyvoirienne Privée</h1>

<ol type="a">

  3. vous tentez de participer d'une manière dont nous pensons, à notre seule discrétion et en agissant raisonnablement ;

    1. peut causer des dommages et/ou offenser un skipper, un maître-nageur et/ou un représentant de la LGSA, ou tout autre membre de votre équipe ou de votre équipe de soutien

    2. peut vous causer du tort

    3. peut nuire à l'environnement

    4. présente un risque ou un risque potentiel pour la santé et la sécurité.

    5. vous semblez être sous l'influence de drogues ou d'alcool

    6. vous êtes inapte à participer en raison d'une blessure ou d'une maladie

Under no circumstances should you participate if you're not in an appropriate state of health to do so.

You must be 18 years or older at the start of the LGSA Swim Camp. Open water swimming is a physically strenuous activity. We strongly recommend you undergo a comprehensive medical check-up, including an ECG test, before you start training for the LGSA Swim Camp

You undertake to make it clear to the camp staff and lifeguards any physical or medical conditions before the start of the camp should it have any potential of requiring special consideration or possible assistance. You ensure to make it known to the camp staff and lifeguards the place where medication is stored.

  1. Preparation

It's your sole responsibility to ensure you're fully prepared for the Lake Geneva Swim Camp. We highly recommend consistent training in open water to familiarise yourself with the environment. During the camp, you may encounter varying conditions, including waves and choppy water; therefore, you must be prepared for all types of weather. Please note that buoyancy differs in freshwater compared to saltwater, and you should ensure you're aware of these differences and are sufficiently prepared for fresh water swimming. The LGSA can't be held responsible for any lack of preparation on your part.

  1. Event Safety and non-compliance

During the Lake Geneva Swim Camp, all participants must strictly follow the instructions of the organisers and safety staff before, during, and after any swims. Any swim may be abandoned or modified for safety reasons. The LGSA reserves the right to refuse or to ask you to cease your participation in the LGSA Swim Camp immediately and without refund if:

  1. You attempt to participate using someone else's entry or are involved in illicit entry changes.

  2. You fail to follow any instructions given by LGSA Swim Camp organisers or safety staff.

  3. You engage in behaviour which we, in our sole discretion and acting reasonably, believe may:

    1. Cause harm or offence to any LGSA organiser, participant, or third party.

    2. Cause harm to yourself.

    3. Harm the environment.

    4. Create a risk or potential risk to health and safety.

  4. You appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  5. You're deemed unfit to participate due to injury or illness.

  6. You fail to turn up on time for designated briefings or swim starts.

  7. We, in our sole discretion and acting reasonably, judge that you're unable to swim safely or within the timeframes set by the camp organisers and safety team.

  8. You take part in any unauthorised marketing or promotional activity (ambush marketing).

  1. Mandatory Tow Float

Each participant must wear a tow-float throughout all open-water swims. This is a crucial safety precaution to enhance visibility in the water. It's important to understand that a tow-float isn't a life-saving device and can't be treated as such. It's your responsibility to be able to swim the required distance in varying weather conditions; a tow-float won't prevent a swimmer from drowning.

  1. Wetsuits

Wetsuits are recommended for all swimmers when the water temperature is below 16°C, but their use remains optional.

  1. Camp Changes

The LGSA reserves the right to make any amendments to the LGSA Swim Camp that it deems necessary for the successful staging and safety of the camp. This includes, but isn't limited to, reducing the distance of any or all swims, changing a swim course, or altering the timetable and structure of events. Any changes to a swim will be communicated to you at the LGSA Swim Camp itself or sooner if possible. Should the LGSA Swim Camp be amended in any way, you agree that the camp has still been staged, and you won't be eligible for any refund under these circumstances.

  1. Use of Images

The LGSA reserves the right to use images, photographs, and video footage of you taking part in the LGSA Swim Camp for its own legitimate purposes, including promotional and archival material. By agreeing to these terms, you consent to the publication and broadcast of your image which accurately depicts your participation in the LGSA Swim Camp.

  1. Insurance and Liability

It is essential that you have your own appropriate insurance coverage for the duration of your trip and participation in the LGSA Swim Camp. This should include, but not be limited to, travel insurance (if applicable), medical emergencies, personal accident cover, and trip cancellation/interruption. It is solely your responsibility to secure adequate personal insurance coverage.

The LGSA carries its own third-party liability insurance for the LGSA Swim Camp for its own benefit. This insurance does not cover personal accident, injury, or loss for participants, nor does it cover any claims made against you by a third party. In no event will the LGSA be liable to you for any:

  1. Loss or damage

  2. Loss of profit, reputation, business, revenue, or goodwill

  3. Pledges made by you (or on your behalf) to charity

  4. Consequential or indirect loss

  5. Injury or sickness due to your own negligence or lack of preparation.

Nothing in this Agreement shall affect our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability to the extent it cannot be excluded or limited by law.

You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your actions and omissions whilst taking part in the LGSA Swim Camp. You agree to indemnify and keep the LGSA indemnified against any claim made against us by a third party for death, personal injury, or damage to property as a result of, or in connection with, your negligent actions or omissions whilst taking part in the LGSA Swim Camp.
